Tayla of the Golden Spread

Tayla wasn’t always “Tayla of the Golden Spread.” In her little town of Mackenzie, Texas, Tayla was often called “Trayla Trash” by classmates. After her mother died, and her father couldn’t give up the bottle, Tayla, her brother and her father were forced to move out of their house and into a run-down trailer in the farthest, most run-down part of town.

Tayla was so busy working three jobs to support her family and trying to get by in her classes that she didn’t even have time to be a normal teenager … much less consider what her future held. She was just trying to get by day-to-day. It wasn’t until a stern, mother-like Irish aunt showed up that Tayla’s life began to change. She met Jacques, attended church services, and began to model for her local department store and actually nurture a future.

Just when things started to look up, a tragedy struck—a tornado swept through town, knocking down barns, buildings, and killing the parents of her new love interest, leaving him to take care of his four siblings.

Will Tayla see the light at the end of the tunnel or will the tornado threaten all that she worked for? Find out in the first novel in the “Once Upon a Time in the Texas Panhandle” series.
